Renormalized ladder-type expansions for many-particle propagators

چکیده
For a system of indistinguishable fermions with pairwise interactions, we consider renormalized, perturbative expansions for the threeand four-particle propagators ~Green’s functions! in terms of exact one-particle propagators, along with a pair interaction that may be bare ~as it appears in the Hamiltonian! or dressed ~polarized!. Care is taken to provide a rigorous foundation for the diagrammatic representations of these perturbation series; in particular, it is demonstrated how each topologically distinct diagram represents an embedding ~in three-dimensional space! of numerous separate terms in the perturbation series. Within a renormalized ladder approximation for the threeand four-particle propagators, we derive diagram weights ~which differ from the two-particle diagram weights! in order to limit the perturbation series to topologically distinct, permutationally independent diagrams. These results lay the foundation for perturbative approximations that decouple the propagator and density matrix equations of motion.

Brownian motion in dynamically disordered media.
The motion of Brownian test particles in a model random potential with time dependent correlations is investigated using four methods: renormalized perturbation, perturbation using Martin, Siggia, and Rose functional formalism (MSR), the Edwards variational method on the MSR functional, and renormalization group with the MSR function. The disorder averaged one-particle propagators determined by...

We investigate the relation between the binding energy and the Fermi energy and between different expressions for the pressure in cold nuclear matter. For a self-consistent calculation based on a Φ derivable T−matrix approximation with off-shell propagators the thermodynamic relations are well satisfied unlike for a G−matrix or a T−matrix approach using quasi-particle propagators in the ladder ...
متن کاملPole Mass, Width, and Propagators of Unstable Fermions
The concepts of pole mass and width are extended to unstable fermions in the general framework of parity-nonconserving gauge theories, such as the Standard Model. In contrast with the conventional on-shell definitions, these concepts are gauge independent and avoid severe unphysical singularities, properties of great importance since most fundamental fermions in nature are unstable particles. G...
متن کاملFeynman Propagator - Based Expansions * at Strong Coupling
With the objective of making direct contact with the usual weak coupling Feynman propagator expansions for quantum field theory, we present a formulation of strongly coupled renormalizable fields based on Feynman propagator expansions. As an example, the theory of the scalar field with quartic self-coupling is considered in detail (in 4-dimensional Minkowsky space). In agreement with an origina...

In a series of ten papers, of which this is the first, we prove that the temperature zero renormalized perturbation expansions of a class of interacting many– fermion models in two space dimensions have nonzero radius of convergence. The models have “asymmetric” Fermi surfaces and short range interactions. One consequence of the convergence of the perturbation expansions is the existence of a d...
